Lynn Trapp
Lynn Trapp (b. 1963) is an active concert organist, pianist, conductor, composer, and liturgist. Educated at Southern Illinois University, the University of Notre Dame, the Eastman School of Music, and the University of Kansas (from which he earned his doctorate), he was Director of Worship and Music at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota from 1996–2015. He is currently Director of Liturgy and Music at St. Joseph Church in Baltimore, Maryland. As an organist, Trapp has performed and conducted choirs at conventions of the American Guild of Organists, the American Choral Directors Association, and the National Association of Pastoral Musicians. Among his many career highlights are serving as co-conductor for the internationally televised Papal Mass of World Youth Day with Pope John Paul II in Denver, Colorado; serving as composer in residence at the New York City Liturgical School of Music and St. Louis Cathedral, St. Louis, Missouri; serving as Artistic Director of Cracovia Cantat, an international choral festival in Krakow, Poland; and directing music for the national liturgy conference at the University of Notre Dame. As a composer, he has published numerous organ, piano, and choral works.
