Erik Meyer

Erik Meyer (b. 1980) is an all-around musician who likes to keep busy and get his hands dirty. A native of Collingswood, New Jersey, he earned his music degrees from the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore. He is the composer of the new Johns Hopkins University school song and has won various awards for his compositions. He has performed over 100 organ concerts throughout the USA and Europe, as well as flute and organ recitals with his wife, Anna. Meyer is music director at the Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Philadelphia, where he oversees a large choral and instrumental program. He plays a decent trombone in a band and a not-so-decent violin in an orchestra, and has even managed to score a couple of accordion gigs. He maintains a blog, fineartoflistening.com, which helps to introduce and promote art music to new audiences.
